Steven Sashen of Boulder, Colorado has opened a company that produces huaraches.  I haven't tried his specific products, but know several people that have.  They were VERY impressed with the quality of his products.  I've run in huaraches before, and can vouch for their effectiveness as a minimalist shoe.  If you have never had the experience, it is very similar to barefoot.  The sandals more or less balance on your foot as it leaves the ground.  Anyway, check him out here:

  1. the hubs ordered a pair from BF Ted for my birthday. i'll let you know how they work out. probs won't wear them for running but as my kicking around, 3 seasons shoe... just can't find a flat / flexible enough sandal for my taste

  2. I have some from Stephen ... taking them for a test run this weekend, with a review in a few weeks. They seem pretty cool so far.

  3. Hy homemade huaraches just don't cut it. One of these days, I'll have to either buy a pair or make my own. Shel and Donald- let us know how they work out!
